Places of interest:

It is remarkably easy to have a love affair with Corfu as the island
has an indefinable quality of peace and timelessness, which gives it a completely
unique character. With the wonderful climate and beautiful scenery, it is not difficult
to understand why Corfu is quite so popular !
A lush and green island (due to abundant rainfall in the winter months, thankfully !)
with mountains and many cypress trees, Corfu is flanked with turquoise seas.
One of the Ionion group of islands, Corfu is small, being only 40 miles long
and 17 miles in width and despite the concession to tourism,
the island is still very rural and not to the fore with modern conveniences,
Corfu itself is the main town on the island and the cobbled streets are excellent for shopping,
the lovely Church of St. Spiridon (patron saint) has gorgeous fresco work and painted icons.

Ipsos/Pyrgi:

Approximately 10 miles from Corfu town and 1 mile from Dassia, these
two resorts are virtually a continuation of one another flanked by a long and narrow
strip of shingle beach and fronted by a promenade. There are endless bars, cafes and tavernas.
With a host of clubs on offer, this is a must for nightlife.

Gouvia:

Almost stretching into Kondokali, Gouvia is lively with plenty of cafes, bars,
tavernas and discos. Several small coves have sand/shingle beaches.
The local bus operates to Dassia and Corfu town every 30 minutes.

Dassia:

Situated just north of Corfu town. Dassia has a good beach
with safe swimming and a host of amenities in the lively resort.
These include excellent restaurants, cafes, tavernas and lively bars.
The nightlife of Ipsos is only less than a mile away.
